Hats, Raspberries & The Giggles

We found out last week that Mary is a big fan of hats. They had lots of cute ones in the clearance bin at The Children's Place outlet in Destin that rang up at $.25!!! So I bought a stack of them, and Mary absolutely loved trying them on. So now when there's nothing else to do, we play "hats" and I take pictures. One of the sessions went awry today when Mary tried to put my big toe in her mouth. I didn't let her, of course, but for some reason the movement of my foot back and forth sent her into gales of laughter. She has mainly been a squawker up to this point, so it was so exciting! She has a beautiful, jolly, somewhat throaty laugh. Perfection! The other big development is her love of the "raspberry." Yes, the kind you make with your tongue that causes spit to fly. Also known as the "bilabial friccative" (thanks Monica). She does it 24/7. Even when she's trying to fall asleep. Even when she's crying. It is very cute (well, it wasn't when she was screaming, crying and friccativing for hours on end in the car on the way to the beach, but anyway.....) and seems to have slowed a bit from last week. Now it's all about the "h" sound: heh, ha, etc. It sounds like "hi" to me, and it is so adorable.

I love this picture! Can you put sound clips of Mary giggling on your blog? That would be way cool!
