We are trying to get Mary to eat some baby food. I have very low aspirations - one or two tablespoons is all I'm hoping for. Here is a photo of Mary eating sweet potatoes. The key is to feed her when she's full from milk or formula. She will open her little mouth and do the best she can with the food (i.e., swallows about 60 percent of it). However, she still has a pretty strong tongue thrust. So we'll keep feeding her every night and eventually she'll get better at it. She does seem to like the sweet potatoes much better than the fruit we tried. I'll remind her of this in a few years when she turns her nose up at veggies.
