We are at the beach this week. Santa Rosa Beach, Florida, to be exact. Mary is a little bit too, well, little to really enjoy the beach just yet. We haven't even taken her out to the pool because she's too young for sunscreen and the sunlight is too bright for her to stay out very long. We did take her down to see the ocean and she pretty much just had a deer in the headlights look the whole time. It might have been the noise. Jeff put her feet down on the sand near the water. As soon as a tiny little wavelet broke on her foot, her bottom lip turned out and it looked like she would cry. We'll try again next year. But Mary has loved being with her Grammy and Poppy, and today, with her Great-Gran and her Aunt MiMi. Aunt MiMi is my sister, Mi Anne. She has an unbelievable way with kids, including Mary. The first time they met, Mary was entranced and gazed up at her for about 15 straight minutes. Although Mary is starting to have a bit of "stranger danger," she warmed right back up to Aunt MiMi today after taking a quick nap. Phew! We are beyond thrilled that Mary has such a young, fun, loving Aunt to spoil her and love on her the way a young, fun Aunt does. We think they will have a lifelong special bond.

I am so proud to be Mary's aunt. I had never before seen such a beautiful baby until I met my little niece for the very first time. I just love her soooo much! Thank you Ashlee and Jeff for bringing such a perfect little angle into our lives! :)
